Free Checklist Templates
Load a template from the Templates menu to start with a pre-built checklist you can customise. All templates include main items and nested sub-items organised into logical sections.
Checklist Builder Features
Drag-and-drop reordering
Grab any item by its drag handle (the dots on the left) and drag it to a new position. The order updates immediately and saves automatically. This makes it easy to prioritise items after adding them in any order.
Nested sub-items
Click the sub-item button on any item to add a nested child item below it. Sub-items are indented to show the hierarchy. Use sub-items to break a large task into smaller steps, or to add notes and details to a main item.
URL sharing — no server required
Click Share Link to generate a URL that contains your entire checklist encoded in the URL itself. Anyone with the link can view and interact with a copy of your checklist. No account, no server — all the data is in the URL. This is ideal for sending a packing list to a travel companion or sharing a project checklist with a colleague.
Print to PDF
Click Print PDF to open the browser print dialog with a clean print-optimised layout. The tool UI, navigation and ads are hidden and only the checklist title and items are printed. To save as PDF, select "Save as PDF" as the printer destination in the print dialog. The printed version shows checkboxes, allowing you to use the printed checklist as a paper tick sheet.
Auto-save to browser
Your checklist title, items, sub-items and completion states are saved automatically to your browser's localStorage after every change. When you return to the page, your checklist is restored exactly as you left it. No login is required.
What Can I Use a Checklist Builder For?
Checklists are one of the most proven productivity tools — used by surgeons, pilots, project managers and students alike. A checklist removes the cognitive load of remembering every step and ensures nothing is missed. Common use cases include:
Travel packing lists — Build your personal packing checklist once, then reuse and share it every trip. Start from the Travel Packing List template and customise for your destination and trip length. Share the link with travel companions so everyone is packing from the same list.
Wedding planning checklists — Wedding planning involves hundreds of tasks spread over months. The Wedding Planning template organises tasks by timeline (12 months out, 6 months, 1 month, week of) so you always know what needs attention now. Share the link with your partner or wedding planner.
Meeting agendas — Create the agenda before a meeting, share the link with participants, and tick items off during the meeting. The progress bar shows visually how much of the agenda you have covered.
Project launch checklists — The Project Launch template covers planning, design, development, QA testing and go-live steps. Mark items as complete as the project progresses and share the link with stakeholders for visibility.
Home inspection checklists — Inspect every area of a property systematically using the Home Inspection template. Tick items as you go and save or print the completed checklist as a record.
