How can a passport photo tool work without uploading my photo?
Your browser can crop, resize, re-encode and analyse images entirely on your device using the canvas API. This tool does exactly that — your photo never touches a server, which matters for something as sensitive as an ID photo. Most "online passport photo" sites upload to earn your traffic, not because a server is needed.
Will the photo be accepted by the government?
This tool produces the exact official dimensions, embeds the correct print resolution, and flags common detectable mistakes (background, exposure, head position). But no tool can guarantee acceptance — the issuing authority makes the final call, so always check your result against the official requirements linked on each country page.
Do different countries really need different photo sizes?
Yes. Many countries follow the ICAO 35×45 mm biometric standard, but the US and India use 2×2 inches (51×51 mm), Canada uses 50×70 mm, and China uses 33×48 mm — and background colour, head-height and file-format rules vary too.
