About LazyTools
LazyTools is a growing collection of free online utilities — unit converters, calculators, file tools and more — built on one non-negotiable principle: your data never leaves your device.
Why we built this
Every day, millions of people upload private files — contracts, photos, IDs, financial documents — to random "free online tools" websites, trusting a stranger's server with their data in exchange for a simple conversion or compression. That trade never made sense to us. Modern browsers are powerful enough to do all of this work locally, so that's how every LazyTools utility is built. Read how it works for the technical details.
Our principles
- Private by architecture. Tools run in your browser. There are no processing servers, so there's nothing to trust — you can verify it.
- Free means free. No sign-up walls, no file-size bait, no "3 conversions per day" games.
- Fast and honest. Instant results, exact formulas shown, sources cited, limitations stated plainly.
- No AI gimmicks. We build deterministic tools that give exact answers — the kind of jobs where a chatbot's approximation isn't good enough.
Editorial & accuracy standards
Every page on LazyTools is built and reviewed by a person, one page at a time — nothing is mass-generated. The standards we hold ourselves to:
- Exact, sourced numbers. Conversion factors follow the official international definitions (NIST/BIPM and equivalent bodies); formulas are shown on the page so you can check the math yourself.
- No invented facts. Blog guides cite their sources, and if something is an estimate or has caveats, we say so on the page.
- Honest dates. Published and updated dates reflect real changes, not cosmetic refreshes.
- Every page earns its place. A page only exists if it answers a question no other page here answers — and pages that stop being useful get improved or removed, not left to rot.
- Verifiable claims. The whole codebase is open source, so "nothing is uploaded" isn't a promise — it's inspectable.

Who's behind LazyTools
LazyTools.io is part of the projects portfolio of Synth88 Labs Inc. The entire site is developed in the open — the full source is public on GitHub, so you can inspect every line that touches your data and verify for yourself that nothing is uploaded. The code is source-available: free to read, audit and learn from, but not licensed for redistribution or commercial reuse.
