Why you can trust LazyTools
Trust shouldn't be a marketing word. This page lays out exactly how LazyTools protects your data, how we keep our numbers and guides accurate, and how the site is maintained, with the receipts, so you can verify each claim yourself rather than take our word for it.
Your data never leaves your device
Every tool runs entirely in your browser. There is no processing server, so the files and values you enter are never uploaded, stored, or logged, and the tools keep working with your internet disconnected. This is enforced by architecture, not policy: there is simply nowhere for your data to go.
- You can confirm it in your browser's Network tab, nothing leaves the page when you use a tool.
- The full source code is public on GitHub, so "nothing is uploaded" is inspectable, not a promise.
- See the technical detail in how it works, and what little we do measure in our privacy policy.
Our numbers and guides are checked
Accuracy is the whole point of a calculator or converter. The standards we hold every page to:
- Exact, official values. Conversion factors and constants follow the official international definitions (NIST, BIPM and equivalent bodies); the formula is shown on the page so you can check the math yourself.
- Sources cited, no invented facts. Blog guides link the primary authority behind a factual claim, government agencies, standards bodies and official documentation, and every outbound link is checked to be live and on-topic.
- Estimates are labelled as estimates. Where a result is an approximation or carries caveats, we say so on the page rather than presenting a guess as a fact.
- Built by a person. Each page is written and reviewed by a human, one at a time, nothing is mass-generated to fill a sitemap.
- No AI approximations. Tools are deterministic code that returns the same exact answer every time, the opposite of a chatbot's best guess.
Continuously maintained
The site is checked automatically every day, an audit runs each tool in a real browser and flags any problem with accuracy, accessibility, performance, mobile layout or privacy, and issues are fixed on a rolling basis rather than left to rot. Published and updated dates on our guides reflect real changes, not cosmetic refreshes, and a page that stops being useful is improved or removed. Spot an error? Tell us, corrections ship in the next release.
Ratings come from real users
The star ratings on tool pages are submitted by visitors like you. We only display an average once a tool has crossed a minimum number of ratings, so a single vote can't manufacture a score, and the figure shown is the genuine aggregate.
Who's behind it
LazyTools is built by Uttam Regmi, founder of Synth88 Labs Inc., an auditor by profession and a long-time builder based in Dubai, UAE. It's a real, named person behind the site, reachable at synth88labs@gmail.com or on LinkedIn. The code is source-available: free to read, audit and learn from, and there are no sign-up walls, file-size bait or "3 uses per day" games, free means free. More on the about page.
