How the unit price calculator (price per unit) works
Unit price = price ÷ quantity. Compare the two unit prices; the lower one is the better value, and the percentage difference shows by how much.
Example: $3 for 12 = $0.25 each; $5 for 24 ≈ $0.208 each → the 24-pack is about 17% cheaper per unit.
Use the same unit for both quantities (both in ounces, both in count, both in millilitres) so the comparison is fair. The bigger package is usually — but not always — the better unit price; this is the quick way to catch the exceptions on the shelf.
