30% of 2,499
2,499 × 0.7
How the discount calculator works
savings = price × (discount ÷ 100); final price = price − savings = price × (1 − discount ÷ 100).
Example: 30% off 2,499 → save 749.70, pay 1,749.30.
Stacked discounts multiply, they don’t add: "30% off + extra 20% off" is 0.70 × 0.80 = 0.56 — a 44% total discount, not 50%. Retailers rely on that gap.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate 30% off a price?
Multiply the price by 0.70 (keeping 70%): 30% off 150 = 150 × 0.7 = 105. Or compute the saving (150 × 0.3 = 45) and subtract.
Do stacked discounts add up?
No — they compound on the reduced price. 20% off then another 20% off is 0.8 × 0.8 = 0.64, a 36% total discount, not 40%.
How do I find the original price after a discount?
Divide by the kept fraction: paid 84 after 30% off → 84 ÷ 0.70 = 120 original.
Is this discount calculator accurate and private?
Yes. It uses the standard published formula, shows its working under every result, and computes locally in your browser — your inputs are never sent to a server, and the page works offline.
